Festival Noodles
Festival noodles when they are served

Why called festival noodles

Festival Noodles – One of the most common noodles Korean people is called festival noodles basically because people eat them while in such festivals as weddings, anniversaries, etc. So these noodles are very easy to see around you in Korea.

Ingredients used

What you see above are leeks, laver, and sesame seeds. And the soup is made of anchovies, seaweed and a bit of garlic. Therefore, when you drink it with the bowl with your hands, the warm and deep taste is very satisfying.

What I ordered was the festival noodles with fish cake.

This is bibim noodles with hot sauce, cabbages, lettuce, and cucumbers. Many people like its spicy flavour. Both soup and bibim type is delicious, so it is always not easy to make a decision between these two. 😉

Why dumplings

Dumplings was a side menu to order. My friends and I did. Noodles are carbohydrates, which could mean that you need protein intake. So it is a cultural and nutritional aspect. Many people would feel not fed well without protein, not all the time but at least in many cases.

What you eat while going hiking in Korea

It was super delicious after climbing Gwanak Mountain in Anyang. Of course like above picture, I had lunch with friends. Eating ramyun was awesome. One of them brought hot water. When you go hiking in the mountain, you eat cucumbers. Why? I don’t know the reason but people do that in Korea. They contain fiber, water, minerals and so forth, which will be of help in exercising for sure.
